You think AI is going to completely change business in 6 months. I know a company that’s still replacing lotus notes and another that uses carbon paper to make triplicate copies of sales orders.

You think Zuck is a genius, laying off thousands to pivot from VR to AI. I think he’s riding that runaway train to nowhere and there’s no stopping him. Meta is so over.

You think software is a solved problem and developers will be gone in a year. I think there’s a code quality car crash coming and the demand for developers will continue to rise.

You think AI will just get better and better with scale, and AGI is just round the corner. I think LLMs are useful language translation and regeneration tools that have hit a capability plateau that is being hidden behind layers of traditional sequential processing.

You think companies like OpenAI and Anthropic are the future and every other business model is broken. I think they’re investment hoovers with a very dubious commercial model that’s starting to crack under the load.

Only one of us can be right, and only time will tell.

(Yes, it’s Monday morning and I haven’t had my coffee yet, but I did manage to squeeze a ‘q’ word into a five word alliteration).
